Matt's Exciting News

No, he's not pregnant....he recently passed the Microsoft Exchange Implementation exam. I've spent many evenings banned from the computer while he studied and now I can write this blog because he passed. He also got a raise on the same day! Yay Matt!!!

The Queens birthday

Does anyone know why NZ celebrates the Queen's birthday when the UK doesn't? Oh well, it gives us a three day weekend!

We took the opportunity to motor across to Kapiti Island - a wildlife sanctuary which is one of the few that allows visitors (only 50 per day). We hiked the 2 hours up to the summit - 520m, and were rewarded with fantastic views of the lower North Island and across the Cook Straits to the South Island. We also bumped into loads of native birds - alot of which are endangered.

All in all, a great break from Wellington!
